We've developed the following articles to help you build a solid foundation for your business and your future team.  These workshops aren't light reading.  We didn't design them as entertainment, but as guides to help make the work of starting a business easier.  They will help you work through your ideas, create long-term plans, and reflect on important upcoming decisions.

Discovering Your Core Values

As the founder of your business, you should have a clear understanding of your company's core values, before you ever hire your first employee, before you seek out investors, and before you make your first business transaction.

In this workshop:
  • Defining Core Values: They are the solid foundation upon which you can build your business

Writing Your HR Business Plan

A solid business plan is important.  It helps you articulate your goals for your business and your plan for reaching them.  But, most business plans don't really address how to build the right team to support your vision.

If the first time you start thinking about your staffing needs is after you've hired 20 people, you're way behind the game.  The best time plan for building a strong team is before your business even begins.  Your HR Business Plan will help you plan for how you'll staff your company and grow your team in order to reach your business goals.

Hiring Your First Employee

The challenges of operating a business alone are many.  The hours are long, the work can be lonely, and the pressure is intense.  It's tempting to think that hiring help is the easy solution, but there are challenges involved in that as well.  How do you find them?  How do you know you're hiring the right person?  What do you do once they're here?
